Whether in the context of our offices, schools, or the community at large, we have had consistent success helping families throughout Connecticut. We are geographically central to Hamden, North Haven, Wallingford, Cheshire, Woodbridge, the Shoreline communities, and all of New Haven County.   Crisis intervention, individual and family therapy, psychological testing, behavior modification, and educational consulting are among the strategies and methods we use to manage and treat mental health issues in teens and young adults. We can help with Depression, Anxiety, Adoption Issues, Eating Disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress, Bipolar Disorder, ADD/ADHD, Personality Disorders, family conflicts, and many other issus. Students who under-perform in school or act out behaviorally may also benefit from assessment and treatment.

"Arete" is the ancient Greek word for well-rounded excellence in all aspects of personhood. In the spirit of this idea, Arete clinicians are deeply committed to assisting young people with capitalizing on what is healthy and resourceful in their nature, enabling them to use their existing abilities more effectively, learn new life skills, and channel their development in positive directions.   To this end we aim to provide effective, confidential, and client centered interventions - as well as practical solutions - while actively facilitating communication and cooperation between Arete staff and our clients, their families, and their larger support networks. It is our goal and our privilege to help adolescents and young adults regain control over their lives, define and pursue their geniune ambitions, and reconnect with the families that love and support them.
